Gunmen have kidnapped students from the Federal University Lafia, Nasarawa State. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the state. According to, four undergraduate students of Nasarawa State University were abducted by gunmen in October 2023.
In September 2023, gunmen reportedly shot three polytechnic students in Nasarawa State and kidnapped one female student. The rising insecurity in Nasarawa State is a cause for concern, as it is affecting the education sector and the safety of students. The Nigerian police and military have been deployed to the scene of the incidents, but they have not been able to rescue the victims.Â
The police commissioner has ordered a manhunt for the abductors in order to rescue the victims. The government needs to take urgent action to address the security challenges in Nasarawa State and ensure the safety of its citizens.
